‘Thy Kingdom Come’ – what is it all about?
Thy Kingdom Come
During the 10 days between Ascension & Pentecost the church is called to a more intense time pop prayer, just as the first decibels waited and prayed for the coming of the Holy Spirit.
We are to pray that God’s Kingdom comes more and more, and in particular for five individuals, not yet with a personal faith, to come to know and follow Christ.
Who will you pray for?
During this week you might want to make a special effort to join with Night Prayers which will be using the special prayers and reflections set for the week.
Or you can download the ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ prayer journal
What is ‘ Thy Kingdom come’?
‘Thy Kingdom Come’ is a global prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray between Ascension and Pentecost for more people to come to know Jesus Christ. It started out as an invitation from the Archbishops’ of Canterbury and York in 2016 and has grown into an international and ecumenical call to prayer.
The hope is that:
…. people will commit to pray with God’s world-wide family – as a church, individually or as a family;
…. Churches will hold prayer events, across the UK and in other parts of the world;
…. people will be empowered through prayer by the Holy Spirit and find new confidence to be witnesses for Jesus Christ.
